Construction Updates - West Phase (2024/2025)

CAMP PHILLIPS RD (CR-X) TOWARD VON KANEL ST - SEGMENT 1

EARLY SEPTEMBER 2024:

The Contractor (Integrity Grading & Excavating) plans to begin work along the project corridor.

The construction zone remains open only to local traffic going to and from their homes. Through traffic is advised to follow speed limits and follow the signed detour route. This is for the safety of all our residents and the Contractor's crews helping our community complete this important infrastructure project.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during construction of our Village infrastructure improvement project.

WEEK OF:

NOVEMBER 18, 2024

The Contractor is finishing placement of gravel along the shoulders and restoration of the remaining disturbed areas outside the street. Work along the street is planned to be completed by mid-week and the street reopened to traffic.

Please continue to follow the posted traffic control and detour signs until they are taken down.

NOVEMBER 11, 2024

Weather pending, the Contractor plans to finish up restoration of the disturbed areas outside the street and pavement marking is planned to be completed this week. Once work along the street is complete, the traffic control and detour will be removed.

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

NOVEMBER 4, 2024

Weather pending, the Contractor plans to finish up restoration of the disturbed areas outside the street yet this week with the final layer of asphalt planned for later this week. Pavement marking could potentially be completed yet this week or in the coming weeks.

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

OCTOBER 28, 2024

Weather pending, the Contractor plans to finish up the street reconstruction project this week. Remaining work includes utility adjustments, paving the surface layer of asphalt, and pavement marking the street.

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

OCTOBER 21, 2024

The concrete that was placed last week required a week of curing before equipment could begin working around it for asphalt paving. Asphalt paving is planned to begin late this week.

OCTOBER 14, 2024

The Contractor will start on placing new concrete along Weston Avenue between Camp Phillips Road (CR-X) and Von Kanel Street. New utilities are also getting installed on the east end of the Weston Avenue corridor between Progress Way and west of CR-J. These utilities will be constructed between Weston Avenue and STH 29.

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

OCTOBER 7, 2024

The Contractor has completed road grading and placement/compaction of base aggregate along Weston Avenue from Camp Phillips Road (CR-X) up to the east side of Von Kanel Street.

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

SEPTEMBER 30, 2024

The Contractor continues to work on grading the new road along Weston Avenue between Camp Phillips Road (CR-X) and Von Kanel Street.

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2024

The Contractor has finished grading the stormwater pond at the intersection of Camp Phillips Road (CR-X) and Weston Avenue and at Von Kanel Street and Weston Avenue. The Contractor has begun grading operations to change the Weston Avenue roadway between Camp Phillips Road (CR-X) and Von Kanel Street to the finished roadway cross section.

SEPTEMBER 16, 2024

Pavement removal occurred this past week and the Contractor has begun excavation for the stormwater pond at the intersection of Camp Phillips Road (CR-X) and Weston Avenue. 

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2024

Tree clearing, grubbing, and removals will continue for most of this week with roadway work beginning later in the week. 

Traffic control and detour signs will continue to be in operation as the street will be closed to through traffic.

SEPTEMBER 2, 2024 (AFTER LABOR DAY)

Weston Avenue Reconstruction project begins. Contractor will be mobilizing equipment and materials to the project area and begin clearing, grubbing, and removals. Traffic control and detour signs will be installed as the street will be closed to through traffic.
