Public Information Meeting - March 29, 2023

Construction Phase Overview:

Phase 1: Alderson St and Intersection of Weston Ave and Alderson St (Roundabout Location) 

  • Estimated Schedule: 6/17/24 thru 8/27/24
    • Consists of the reconstruction of the Weston Ave and Alderson St intersection along with Alderson St (Weston Ave to Summit Ave).  Included with this work is replacement of water main and sanitary sewer.

Phase 2: Summit Ave 

  • Estimated Schedule: 8/28/24 thru 11/18/24 
    • Consists of the repaving of Summit Ave, installation of new water main and some storm sewer addition.

Phase 3: Weston Ave (Alderson St to Birch St)

  • Estimated Schedule: 9/3/24 thru 11/18/24 
    • Consists of the repaving of Weston Ave, installation of new water main and construction of a multi-use path on the south side of the road.

Weekly Construction Update for:

November 11, 2024

  • The Contractor (Haas Sons, Inc.) plans to finish final grading and miscellaneous concrete rework this week and potentially over the weekend. Asphalt is planned to be constructed next week across all streets (Weston Avenue, Alderson Street, and Summit Avenue) within the project limits.
  • The segment of Weston Avenue between Alderson Street and Birch Street will remain closed to through traffic until work to rebuild the street is complete.

November 4, 2024

  • The Contractor (Haas Sons, Inc.) plans to finish rebuilding Weston Avenue and get concrete installed this week and the first layer of asphalt placed the week following. Once the first layer of asphalt is placed, the Contractor plans to pave the final layer of asphalt across all streets (Weston Avenue, Alderson Street, and Summit Avenue) within the project limits.
  • The segment of Weston Avenue between Alderson Street and Birch Street will remain closed to through traffic until work to rebuild the street is complete.

October 28, 2024

  • The Contractor plans to begin preparations for asphalt paving along Summit Avenue.
  • All drinking water and sanitary sewer utility improvements have been completed for the project.
  • The private telecommunication companies completed their relocation work along Weston Avenue. The Contractor (Haas Sons, Inc.) plans to finishing rebuilding Weston Avenue between Alderson Street (new roundabout) and Birch Street. Once this work is complete, the concrete infrastructure can be constructed with asphalt pavement to follow.
  • The segment of Weston Avenue between Alderson Street and Birch Street will remain closed to through traffic until work to rebuild the street is complete.

October 21, 2024

  • The Contractor is progressing with rebuilding the road along Summit Avenue.
  • The private telecommunication companies are scheduled to finish their relocation work along Weston Avenue this week. Once the private utilities are complete, the Contractor (Haas Sons, Inc.) will be able to proceed with finishing rebuilding the Weston Avenue between Alderson Street (new roundabout) and Birch Street.
  • The segment of Weston Avenue between Alderson Street and Birch Street will remain closed to through traffic until work to rebuild the street is complete.

October 14, 2024

  • The Contractor is installing storm sewer and rebuilding the road along Summit Avenue.
  • Roadway work along Weston Avenue between Alderson Street and Birch Street is on hold until the private telecommunication companies finish their relocations. This segment of the project remains closed to through traffic.

October 7, 2024

  • The Contractor is working on utility service connections along Summit Avenue.
  • Roadway work along Weston Avenue between Alderson Street and Birch Street is on hold until the private telecommunication companies finish their relocations. This segment of the project remains closed to through traffic.

September 30, 2024

  • The Contractor is working on the last half of the water main improvement along Summit Avenue.
  • Roadway work along Weston Avenue between Alderson Street and Birch Street will continue as the contractor waits on private utilities to finish the relocation of their facilities. This segment of the project remains closed to through traffic.
  • Concrete work along Weston Avenue to begin late in the week.

September 23, 2024

  • Temporary water service is being worked on for Summit Avenue. The utility work near the roundabout should be completed this week and utility work near Birch Street should near completion by the end of the week. 
  • The construction zone will be open to traffic along Alderson Street, and Weston Ave, west of the new roundabout. 
  • Work along Weston Ave, from Alderson St to Birch St, continues and will remain closed to through traffic, east of Alderson Street.

September 16, 2024

  • Water and sanitary sewer work is planned for completion between Alderson St and Birch St and the Contractor will be working on road building along Weston Ave this week and then move to Summit Ave. The construction zone will be open to traffic as work along Weston Ave, from Alderson St to Birch St, proceeds for the next couple weeks. Weston Ave to the east will remain closed to through traffic.

September 9, 2024

  • Water and sanitary sewer work are nearing completion between Alderson St and Birch St. The Contractor will be focusing on building the roadway up along Weston Ave this coming week with then work on Summit Ave projected to start the week of 9/16. This will be open to traffic as work along Weston Ave from Alderson St to Birch St proceeds. Weston Ave to the east will still be closed to through traffic.

September 2, 2024

  • The first layer of asphalt has been paved through the new roundabout at Weston Ave and Alderson St. This will be open to traffic as work along Weston Ave from Alderson St to Birch St proceeds. Weston Ave to the east will still be closed to through traffic.

August 23, 2024

  • Concrete work for Alderson St and the Weston Ave intersection is mostly complete.  Water main installation along Weston Ave between Alderson St and Birch St is ongoing with about 2/3 of the water main installed this past week.  Some communication utilities still need to relocate their facilities before the roundabout work can be completed in the northeast corner of the Weston Ave/Alderson St intersection.  This work is expected to occur during the early part of the week of 8/26.

July 25, 2024

  • The Weston Ave and Alderson St intersection along with Alderson St from Weston Ave to Summit Ave is built back to gravel grade.  Concrete work for the Weston Ave and Alderson St intersection as well as Alderson St is expected to begin early next week.

July 18, 2024

  • Utility work on Alderson St from Weston Ave to Summit Ave should be finished.  The crews will be working on rebuilding the roadway from Weston Ave to Summit Ave on Alderson St.  This will go into the week of July 22.  Concrete work for the Weston Ave and Alderson St intersection as well as Alderson St will likely begin the week of July 29.

July 11, 2024

  • Watermain and Sanitary Sewer have been installed.  Storm sewer is currently ongoing and road building along Alderson St should start mid to late next week.

July 5, 2024

  • Watermain and Sanitary Sewer are being installed on Alderson St from Weston Ave to Summit Ave.  Water and sewer work will continue into next week.

June 27, 2024

  • Temporary water services along Jeffrey Ln have been installed and installation of the water and sanitary sewer main in Alderson St from Weston Ave to Summit Ave is ongoing.

June 21, 2024

  • Weston Ave and Alderson St Intersection has been pulverized, and tree clearing at the intersection has been completed.
  • Week of 6/24 will include sanitary sewer and watermain work with temporary water services being installed on Alderson St.
