Construction Updates

SEPTEMBER 2024:

Haas Sons is the Contractor awarded the construction contract.

LATE SEPTEMBER 2024:

Preconstruction meeting takes place with the Village, Field Engineer, and Contractor as preparations begin to start construction in the following weeks.

WEEK OF:

NOVEMBER 18, 2024 - DECEMBER 8, 2024

Traffic control has been removed along Schofield Avenue for the next couple of weeks until the new traffic signals (poles, mast arms, and signal heads/lights) are delivered and can be installed. Private utilities may be performing some remaining work along the north side of the intersection over the next couple of weeks. Minimal work is planned to be completed by the Contractor until the new traffic signals are delivered to the site. This is planned to take place in early December 2024.

NOVEMBER 11, 2024

The Contractor will finish up concrete work on curb and gutter, sidewalk, and pavement along Schofield Avenue along the inside travel lanes this week and finish installing the last of the traffic signal bases. The new traffic signals (poles, mast arms, and signal heads/lights) are planned for installation in early December 2024.

NOVEMBER 4, 2024

The Contractor will finish up concrete work on curb and gutter, sidewalk, and pavement along Schofield Avenue this week and move traffic over from the inside to outside travel lane. Once traffic is moved over, concrete removals will begin along the inside travel lanes.

OCTOBER 28, 2024

The Contractor has installed traffic control along Schofield Avenue closing the outside travel lane. The Contractor will continue to work on curb and gutter replacements and adding new sidewalk. The Contractor is scheduled to pour concrete to finish the pavement replacements on Schofield Avenue this week.

OCTOBER 21, 2024

The Contractor has installed traffic control along Schofield Avenue closing the outside travel lane. Work related to installing the concrete bases for the new traffic signals continues this week along with miscellaneous curb and gutter replacements and adding new sidewalk. The Contractor started on concrete pavement removals and is scheduled be complete pavement replacements over the coming week.

OCTOBER 14, 2024

The Contractor has installed traffic control along Schofield Avenue closing the outside travel lane. Work related to installing the concrete bases for the new traffic signals continues this week. The Contractor may begin working on concrete pavement removals and replacements as construction of traffic signal bases progresses.

OCTOBER 7, 2024

Schofield Avenue and Mesker Street Intersection Improvement project begins. Contractor will be mobilizing equipment, materials, and installing erosion control as the prepare to start on demolition and removal-related work.
