2025 Budget approved, Tax Bills arriving mid-December

On November 18^th the Village board adopted the 2025 budget. General fund expenditures increased 2.48% to $9,416,197. The Village’s operating levy increased $334,585, $292,245 of the increase was because of debt.

The total tax rate for Village residents is decreasing from $23.69 to $16.01. The decrease is in part because of the reassessment, but also the school district and county decreased their levy. The LOTTERY CREDIT decreased $51.23 to $197.14. All residents who have owned their home since January 1, 2024, are eligible for this credit. Please reach out to the Village if you do not see this on your tax bill and have lived in your house since January 1.
