Village of Weston April 2026 Referendum

The Village of Weston Board of Trustees approved an authorizing referendum resolution (pictured below) in the amount of $600,000 on an ongoing basis for the purpose of South Area Fire & Emergency Response District (SAFER) adding six additional full-time firefighters/paramedics at their January 19, 2026 meeting. The referendum question will appear on the ballot as follows:

Under state law, the increase in the levy of the Village of Weston for the tax to be imposed for the next fiscal year, 2027, is limited to 2.29%, which results in a levy of $5,907,763. Shall the Village of Weston be allowed to exceed this limit and increase the levy for the next fiscal year, 2027, for the purpose of paying the Village of Weston’s share of the cost for SAFER to hire and retain six additional full-time firefighters/paramedics, by a total of 10%, which results in a levy of $6,507,763 and on an ongoing basis, include the increase of $600,000 for each fiscal year going forward?

The Village will share more information with residents online and by holding public information session(s) ahead of the April 7, 2026, election. More information will be available on the Village’s website, www.westonwi.gov, in the coming weeks; plus shared through the Village’s social media and weekly e-newsletter.

Waiting for your old Waste Management carts to be taken away?

+ If you are still waiting for your old Waste Management carts to be taken away, report your address and contact information here (https://arcg.is/1CbT5D2) by January 22, 2026.

+ Waste Management will be coming back around sometime the end of January/beginning of February to collect any Waste Management carts that are still out there.

+ Weston staff will follow up with you on when they are coming around so that you can bring your empty Waste Management carts back out to the roadside.

Christmas Tree Disposal:

Composting: Drop off your real Christmas tree anytime at our yard material site at 8200 Ryan Street. BE SURE to remove all decorations, tinsel, and lights.

Curbside Pickup: Harter’s Fox Valley Disposal will be collecting properly set out Christmas Trees the 3rd and 4th weeks of January. In order to have your tree picked up, it needs to be cut in half, and no longer than 4 feet in length. Trees need to be set out by 6:00am, or the night before, the day of collection.

Marathon County Landfill: Deliver it to Marathon County Solid Waste Department, 172900 State Highway 29, Ringle. However, they do charge a fee.
