Crack Sealing

Overview

Crack sealing consists of sealing cracks that develop in asphalt pavements.

  • Cracks that go unsealed allow water to seep into the pavement structure.
  • This is extremely detrimental in the late fall and early spring when water will freeze and expand which causes the asphalt to break apart.
  • Cracks are cleaned out and filled with a rubberized tar, such that it can expand and contract with pavement as temperatures change.
Crack Sealing

Benefits

  • It repels water to prevent it from penetrating the pavement base and causing additional damage.
  • Proper crack sealing and seal coating can double the life of your asphalt.
