The Village of Weston Planning and Development Department’s mission is to provide solution oriented services to the community through the application of professional skills, adopted plans, standards, and village codes and polices that facilitate the growth of the local economy, preserves the natural environment for current and future generations, enhances the quality of life promotes distinctive neighborhoods and a healthy community and involve citizens in decisions that affect them.

Our Guiding Principles:

  • Encourage public/private partnerships to direct the growth and development of the Village of Weston.
  • Achieve long-range goals based on consistent and equal implementation of Village Code and Policies.
  • Facilitating investment in, and enhancement of, the Village's residential, commercial, industrial, public and natural resources.
  • Remaining accessible to the public's right to open and respectful communication regarding Village policies and programs.
  • Providing oversight and carry out functions set forth in the Village's Subdivision Regulations and Zoning Code.
  • Preservation of property values.

The Village Planning & Development Department does not handle animal complaints. They are handled through the Everest Metro Police Department and their contract with the Wausau Humane Officer, Ashlee Bishop. Please follow up with her on all issues. Notification List for Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance Updates or Amendments



The Village of Weston maintains a Comprehensive Plan under Section 66.1001 and Zoning Ordinances under Wis. Stats. §§ 62.23 and 61.35, which it may wish to update or amend from time to time. Under State law, the Village must maintain a list of persons who submit a written or electronic request to receive notice of any proposed change to a comprehensive plan or zoning ordinance that affects the allowable use of the property owned by the person.

This notice is to persons wishing to add their names to this list. If added to such list, the Village is required to provide written notice, including a copy or summary of the proposed changes, to all such persons whose property, the allowable use of which, may be affected by the proposed change.

If you wish to be added to such list, please notify the Jennifer Higgins, Director, Village Planning and Development Department, 5500 Schofield Avenue, Weston, WI or jhiggins@westonwi.gov indicating your preferred means of notice. Notice can be made by 1st class mail, electronic mail, voicemail or text message. The Village may charge each person on the list who receives a notice by 1st class mail a fee that does not exceed the approximate cost of providing the notice to the person.
